Collabatube – which logo do you dig? 5
Every once in 23 years or so I’ll come up with a great idea. This is the latest one that I’ve been working on for the past 6 months or so called Collabatube. As with most ideas that I think are life-changing, they end up being exciting concepts that take either way too much money, maintenance, or mental stamina to see it through to a state of global awesome-sauce.
With Collabatube, I’ve thrown the idea by a handful of people that I really respect (who really know stuff) and there seems to be a resounding “holy crap, this is a great idea” so the adventure to find partners in this little venture is moving along. I’ve had a few different programmers looking into the practical details of what it would take to get this puppy off the ground & have recently hooked up with some really great local guys who are stoked about the idea.
What is Collabatube? Well, can’t tell you all my secrets but it’s basically a collaborative video project using Youtube. And yes, it is (or will be) a website [ http://collabatube.com ] where people will be able to collaborate with each other.
As with most of the design projects I work on, you (my friends) only get to see the finished, polished product but I thought I’d give you a sneak peek into the design process. Today I spent a couple of hours working on a logo concept that I was trying to get from my head onto my computer screen & I’d love to hear your feedback if you’re brave enough to offer it. I use Adobe Illustrator to create these and I find it’s best to start with just a black and white concept, incorporating colour afterward (if necessary). Which one you like?

fun times….. you are the idea man! so excited to hear about what you’re up to!!!
I keep coming back to #13 but I also like #3 I’m a big believer in super fast, simple readability. seems important to have the ‘tube’ stand alone yet still be part of the word. You never cease to amaze me

Great job Nico, I hope that your idea is successful. I like the logos, and my favorite would have to be 6. It’s simple and works great. If I were to suggest a color scheme, use green and a contrasting color. I havn’t seen much logos with green, so having a nice lime green against a contrasting color should make it stand out.
