The end 31
May 16 at 4:15pm, my wife Ingrid Boesten finished her life here on earth. After fighting like a friggin’ champ for 4 years battling through cancer in her colon, liver, lungs, bones & beyond, countless surgeries, doctor visits, medication, chemo, and finally a 3 week stay in hospice she finished well.
I had the honour of holding her hand and being able to see her take her final breath while her dad, his wife, her mom, my mom and sister watched her, along with her suffering, disappear.
The service in Kelowna is tentatively being planned for Thursday May 22 in Kelowna (final date & times TBA) along with talks of another memorial service in Connecticut.

Thank you Nico, I have watched your love for Ingrid from the distance for some time now and hers for you. You held her hand and saw the pain leave, thank you. It has given me such a picture of His love for us as well, when the day comes, He loves well and His strength is enough. Love, brother Stan

We are praying for you and the family, Nico. I wanted to add to the many stories of how Ingrid was used powerfully by God. She prayed for me in 2007……it was an important time in my life. The prayer she prayed was so specific, so clearly divinely inspired, so healing…..that I remember it to this day. An incredible woman! love, Jodi and David Pierce

Never have I ever seen or heard of someone deal with end-of-life/death/transition as beautifully and gracefully as Ingrid. I had the honor of only meeting her a couple of times years ago but I love a few very dearly that have been very close to her…(Michelle, Hannah,Kim, etc). I am inspired. Ingrid and your family, Nico, have been on my mind and in my prayers for weeks. Huge blessings to you and your precious kiddos.

She was beauty, acceptance, love, and strength. Anyone who was lucky enough to have known her is a greater person for it. I mourn her passing but know joy because I knew her.

Nico,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I never had the pleasure of meeting Ingrid, but our mutualfriends that did know her spoke very highly and well of your beautiful, talented wife, and especially about the courageous way she faced a situation that would break many of us.
I understand that words are very empty at this painful time for you, your children, and your family, but I hope you can take some comfort in knowing how loved your wife is/was and how very much we all want to ease your sorrow.
Take care, time time to heal, and if there is ever anything I can do for you, simply ask.
My condolences Nico,
Renata

Nico – I don’t have words that express how sorry I am to hear of you and your family’s loss. I was blessed in meeting with Ingrid only a handful of times but I felt like I knew her so well through your creatively spoken blog. The way Ingrid lived her life inspired me and I know she changed so many people’s lives. Her legacy will live on and I picture her singing & dancing with your dad! I love you and your family and wish I could do something for you. May gods peace be with you. Heaven gained an Angel!!

Words cannot express the sadness in our hearts. Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.
31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

Dear Nico
It’s been a few years since we’ve seen you but enjoyed the brief time knowing you at Wellspring.
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints (Psalm 116:15). What inexplicable joy is Ingrid’s right now in the heavenlies. But death still has its sting and we pray the Lord’s rich comfort on your heart and your family.

Dear Nico, Sylas, misha, parents..
Ingrid is at peace no pain, free at last..To lose your wife, mom, daughter at such an early age is so unfair, so sad so no words can express..Today I put her photo in a beautiful list in our home as a reminder and example to live Life to the fullest with a positive mind set Every day. Some weeks ago she told me on Skype she did not understand people complaining about their bodies or wrinkels. She said: “I Would give everything to see my children grow up and to grow old with Nico..” I, my Family are in spirit with you .. Marije

Rev. 7:9-17
After these things I saw, and behold, a great multitude, which no man could number, out of every nation and of all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, arrayed in white robes, and palms in their hands;
and they cry with a great voice, saying,
Salvation unto our God who sitteth on the throne, and unto the Lamb.
And all the angels were standing round about the throne, and about the elders and the four living creatures; and they fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,
saying,
Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.
And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, These that are arrayed in white robes, who are they, and whence came they?
And I say unto him, My lord, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they that come of the great tribulation, and they washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
Therefore are they before the throne of God; and they serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall spread his tabernacle over them.
They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun strike upon them, nor any heat:
for the Lamb that is in the midst of the throne shall be their shepherd, and shall guide them unto fountains of waters of life: and God shall wipe away every tear from their eyes.

Dear Nico, Misha, Sylas, Lisa, Hannah, Simone, and all the other precious people who are in your families plus your close friends: We are so very sad to hear of your young wife’s passing. Now, she must be dancing on golden streets with Jesus. Her pain is gone and she is free from worries and suffering. However, I would imagine even now Ingrid dearly misses her dear children and husband whom she loved sooo very much! Yes,”winter has gone; rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land.” Amen!

Hello! I came across your blog looking for liver cancer shirts. On 2/6/2014 I found out as a single mother of a 5 year old, that I have stage 4 liver cancer. I hate to see your wife lost her battle with cancer earlier in the year. A tough thing. The suffering part is what I have feared the most, not for me. but for the people that love me so much to see and go through. At this point I am 98% cancer free and hoping that after my surgery this week I will be 100%… It may be out of my body but will always be in my head. I hate cancer and felt totally compelled to reach out to you and say Hello and sorry for your loss.
